Little information is available regarding Peter Henry de Maillet. At the Birth of Mary Anne Harriet, the residence was given as Old Chaple Street, Stroud. Stroud was also the location for the 1841 Census with the Birth location as being 'abroad' and occupation given as ''Professor of French Language''. In 1841 abroad could include the Channel Islands. The name ''de Maillet'' is one of the top 20 names on the islands. On Harriets Wedding Certificate, occupation is given as ''Music Master''.

Update. Record for Pierre Henri Maillet found as a seaman up to 18 years old aboard the french Warship Scipion captured at Trafalgar 1805. He was a prinsoner of war. No other information available. Questionable whether this is the same individual.
