    The following notes where taken from those made by Anthony de Maillet on the web site he posted at ancestry.co.uk

    ''Harriet de Maillet'' recorded in the 1851 Census at Colwell Green Cottages. Described as the niece of the head of the house, a William Willis/Millis/Miller (writing illegible). Age was shown as a stroke that could be a 9, 7 or 1, and she was described as a scholor.

    The Birth certificate shows her as Mary Ann Harriett, daughter of Peter Henry de Maillet, a professor of the French Language and Mary Ann Lefsiman [sic] who registered the birth signing with an X.

    Further information found relating to the above can be found on the Parish Transcriptions for Colwall, Herefordshire, England.

    The Parish Christening Transciptions show on 2 June 1844 Mary Harriett daughter of Peter Henry and Mary Anne mailcot with ''none'' entered for Fathers occupation. The Transcriptions for her Wedding shows Harriet aged 19 Married James Handy aged 24 on 9 July 1861 being the daughter of Peter de Maillet - Music Master. Both couples where unmarried before.

Also interred in the grave is: Joan E de Maillet. Aged 5 years. Funeral took place on 22 February 1922. According to our records there is no memorial on the grave.

    Urethal Stricture is a narrowing of the Uretha. This can be hereditary or caused by infection or other trauma. Treatment would have been by way of an internal urethrotomy. Extravasation of urine, cystitis and cellulitis are unpleasant complcations of the condition that proved fatal.
